B'nai Mitzvah Family Journey

TSSB B'nai Mitzvah students attend our Monday afternoon religious school where they learn the prayers for their B'nai Mitzvah and Jewish history with our B'nai Mitzvah Director Ye'ela Rosenfeld. The students then have individual 30 minute tutoring sessions with our Director to learn their torah portion and prepare other prayers for their service. Each student meets individually and as a family with Rabbi Toba August to write their speech and help prepare the family for what it means to become a B'nai Mitzvah or "a son/daughter of the commandment".

In addition to our student's individual studies, during the B'nai Mitzvah year our students and their families attend a series of family programs which enhances the students experience as they become a B'nai Mitzvah. This programs includes:

- A Visit to the Rabbi's Sukkah

- Shabbat Family Dinners

- A Group Service Project

- Movie night with the Rabbi

- A Torah Program and Practice Service

-A Special Closing Huppah Service

All of our B'nai Mitzvah students utilize a new program called Mitzvah Tools which helps track their tutoring sessions, keeps their information in one place, and helps everything stay organized for their big day!
